| Back at square 1 :-) ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Apeks Tek 3 The Tek3's are perfect for the Meg. I bought a set with XTX50 second stages, (for less than $800CDN) took the DS4's off, swapped one Tek3 plunger for the altered (depth compensated) one in the DS4 O2 first stage in my COPIS, then swapped all hoses. HiThen I mated the XTX50 Second Stages with the DS4's (One to be used as OC bailout) the other for a deep O2 6cuft (non-compensated) plumb-in rig. I am amazed at the Tek3’s hose routing, they tuck in nice and tight. Slightly heavier than the DS4's however, but shiny … and new. Now…to see how everything performs with the new HUD and scoot. Please give more info about the new plunger. Any chance of a photo? Cheers |

| Re: Apeks Tek 3 Hi Sorry if I was misleading. Not a <NEW> plunger, just the original one that has been <adjusted> for use in the non-depth compensating 1st stage for use on the COPIS Meg. I exchanged the one in the DS4 for the one in the Tek3 for use as intended in the COPIS. Please see your qualified LDS for any pending service on your own life supporting equipment. "Alterations performed under controlled conditions, on a closed course by a qualified Closed Circuit Diver"Please give more info about the new plunger. Any chance of a photo? Cheers

| Re: Apeks Tek 3 Tek 3 for a rebreather to me seems a bit exaggerated. They are very expensive and only DS4 with different routing. Performace in rebreather is not that important too. Cheers Ossi |

So do you have a photo so that I can understand your post better? That would be very much appreciated. |

Yeah because reliablity and ease of servicing are things not important once you move to CCRs ![]() Just poking a bit of fun. I wish the meg folks would adopt them for all their new units. Maybe a higher volume of sales would bring the unit price down a bit. ![]()

| Re: Apeks Tek 3 Hi friends, Straight out of the factory they really really are. As clean as any other reg on the market anyway.I believe the difference between the O2 clean and the non O2 clean was the difference between sweeping the floor once at the end of the day and sweeping it twice.Digs.but the 1st stage Apeks Tek3 is not O2 clean... I dont know much about Apeks regs, but... dont the regulator need to be made using oxygen compatible parts, such as viton o-rings and oxygen compatible lubricants. I would think if a company went through the expense of using o2 compatible parts they would keep the whole reg o2 clean and advertise it as such, and if they say it isnt o2 clean I would just assume that it doesnt use o2 compatible parts, right? Like i said though im not too sure about apeks regs, my shop carries sherwood, oceanic, atomic and used to carry scuba pro, and they all are pretty clear about whats o2 clean or not all in all its up to the diver though, right?

| Re: Apeks Tek 3 It is not logical that you put a 400$ regs in your Rebreather and a 100$ in your bailout cilynders. At 20m you do not have problem, but at 90m... ![]() Regards, Alkermes |
