Questions;

1) Those of you with ballistic nylon CL's, do you keep all of the 3 velcro loops on each side? or do you snip-off the ones you don't need/use?

2) High-P hoses. Is there an option of using shorter hoses routed around either side rather than the mega-length up the back-over the shoulder-down the front as illustrated. Seems like a waste of good high-P hose?

Thanks in advance

Curious...which handsets? APECS II, or Shearwater?

I am still playing with my Meg. config. I am keeping the loops just in case. I know a few people snip them off, but I can easlily tuck them in and out of the way. I also figure less sewing should I want them back.

As per a shorter HP hose I think it's a bit difficult given the orientation of the regs. on the tanks. Most of us are using HP swivels (M&J) to accommodate hose routing. A shorter hose coming off to the side would leave it subject to being bent, or less protected.

Re: Meg Hose routing Discussion

Have an unresponsive MENU control on primary of Apecs 2.01.

Thanks for your advise on the velcro loops and opinion on the high P hoses.

If I could just get in the water and past the equipment phase.

When you say unresponsive do you mean that the button is not selecting anything?

If so try rotating it to get a better magnetic field.

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

I kept all of the velcro loops for a while. After about 30 hours or so I snipped the ones I wasn't using and trimmed down the ones that I was using. so far, I have no regrets in doing so.

A buddy & I talked about having shorter HP hoses that just come off the bottles & to the front. In the end, I stuck with custom HP hoses that I feed through the channel in the back of the counter-lung. the hoses are just long enough to tuck the pressure gauges into the waist-strap of my harness. easy to get to, easy to read, out of the way when I want them out of the way.

I had a similiar problem with the VR3 so rotating the button came to mind. No response. I then had the suggestion to remove button guard and switch the MENU and CONFIRM buttons but did not have nor could I obtain the 7/64 allen key needed for disassembly at my location.

True to all accounts however, Leon is right on top of it and seems to be doing all to make me a happy customer. Am hopeful. As this is , I'll post a new thread once this saga is completed.

I'm planning on hiring IANTD training from Singapore beginning mid-January in Maldives (providing my faulted ehead comes back in time).

Re: Megalodon Build up / Break down

[quote=schford]Joe - the standard manufacturer reccomended way of routing Meg hoses are through the soft carry handle to keep them looped together.

My method frees up a good few inches each. It is also very clean and minimises risk of snagging on anything whilst also being plenty long enough to share easily.[/quote

I am quite pleased running my hp hose up the channel next to the can and backplate, then through the soft loop handle. I tuck my hp gauge under the CL at mid chest, and only need enough hose length to pull it out and position it to view. I'm the kind of diver that could get tangled in a flag pole and have yet to have entanglement issues with the configuration that Stuart uses or Leon’s stock unit?
