![]() | BC / wing advice for a Meg Hi guys, I know this topic comes up quite often but........... the last one I seen was 6 months ago. I'm buying a Meg and in a dilema about which wing to get and would really appreciate some advice !!!!!!!I'll eventually be using it for Wreck and Cave diving, most of which could be pretty deep. The things I'm considering are; 1: Single or Double bladders, for an alternate? (a lot of the diving will be wetsuit, I know it's not an issue when I'm in a Drysuit). 2: Streamlined, For wreck penetration, entanglement, etc. 3: Trim, I've read about some "butt heavy" issues with some not having enough buoyancy at bottom? I was looking at these options ISC Tetradon, I imagine it will have been designed around the Meg? OMS BC117-K45 or BC115-KB 60 Ib for the dual bladder. Golem Ring 35 or CCR wing, for it's durability. Dive Rite Trek or Dual Rec Halcyon CCR 35 I'd welcome any or all comments, good or bad, about these or any other wings that are best suited for me and my Meg Cheers guys ![]() |

I would personally recommend a Dive Rite wreck wing, seems to work best out of all the options I have tried, then it would just be a matter of deciding if you will dive dry or not as to if you think a double bladder is needed. I have a selection of wings at our facility the oms, dive-rite wreck wing the New ISC tetradon and an Halcyon dive rite that people can try during class and most opt to go for the dive-rite as it gives good hose routing (ford flow), its streamlined and has ample buoyancy at the surface even if the unit is flooded. Cheers

![]() | Re: BC / wing advice for a Meg Hi Mathew, I'm in Pattaya just now but I'll be coming down to see you soon. I met you at ADEX and e-mailed you about a meg course recently. I'll normally be in a wetsuit but if/when I go back to Scotland I'll be in my drysuit so I'd want the option for both if possible? Colin |

Your more than welcome to give them all a whirl when you visit to make your decision easy. I would say still a single bladder dive rite wreck wing will do for quite some time and will do for most of your technical diving in the future when you go dry again. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Cheers

![]() ![]() | Re: BC / wing advice for a Meg I personally am diving the Dive Rite Rec wing on my Meg and have tried it both in single and double bladder configurations (here in Hawaii, I generally just wear a bathing suit for all my dives, including the deep trimix excursions). Both work fine; however a fellow Megalodon trimix instructor recently was here with us diving the Kona coast of Hawaii, and I'm afraid that I got a bad case of the "I wants" after seeing his Tetradon wing close-up and in action on numerous dives. It trims out very nicely, and my take was that it seems to be a exceedingly stable platform, which should work really well in caves, wrecks, etc, plus as would be expected of an ISC product it appears to extremely rugged and very well thought out. Please excuse the "sales promotion mode", but truly this looks to be one great wing for the Meg. Hope that this helps with your decision. Jim Holt

If chosen correctly they can eliminate the need for shoulder weights for trim. I’m currently getting great results from an QxyCheq 32# do-nut wing but I’d suspect any similar wing w/ significant butt lift across the bottom would work as well. One caveat: with this type wing, a stand of some sort makes life a LOT simpler. Just my (rapidly dropping in value) $0.02. Ken

![]() | Re: BC / wing advice for a Meg Halcyon Eclipse 40lbs is fine for wetsuit, but offers too much lift at the butt with drysuit. Tried Rec wing today and like it a lot better for drysuit.
