Shearwater & the Meg

Hi,
Has anybody wired all 3 cells into their shearwater
yet & if so have you had any problems?

My friend has wired his shearwater into all 3
cells on his classic without a problem so was wandering
if anybody has any reports on the meg

Regards,

Jeff

Re: Shearwater & the Meg

Hi jeff

I kow people have done it but. I was talking with jerry at isc recently and there is a very small chance you could have problems with either the apecs software or the sherwater.

It has somethig to do with the inpedence or resistance being to high. i am sure an electronics wizz can explain it easy. my understanding is if you put a buffer betewe the two circuits then you take away the problem and you are up and running.

In fact ISC are going to offer this as an option shortly.

Re: Shearwater & the Meg

I've got a Pursuit wired into a COPIS head and it works perfectly. I use my COPIS LED and my Shearwater with the COPIS handset clipped off.

The Shearwater is very clear and uber reliable.

As John says, mine works fine, i have checked Mv outputs with it connected and disconected and there is no change on the APECs 2.06 display. The unit has performed so far. I am using a GF and the Po2 displays match the meg displays. I now have on board deco.

Re: Shearwater & the Meg

Thanks everyone for there replies

I spoke to IS and they dont reccommend it, something to
do with wizzy, sparky, volty type things but having spoke
to both john & bruce it seems it will be fine. Probobly IS covering
there asses.

Ive been onto John at Narked@90 who is bakeing me
a plug and play setup so I can just plug my shearwater
strait in (and unplug it if nessesery)

I must say, John has been more than helpful (and pacient)
so if anybody needs any help/bits, i would reccommend him.

I should be out diving it soon so will put a report up.

Regards,

Jeff
