Called ISC and they said that there is no formal recommendation on solenoid service. They did, however, say that the O2 will degrade the O rings and that after three years, it's probably time to send it back to them for an overhaul. It figures that I checked right at the start of the diving season.

I got the feeling they would prefer to do the service, but it is not a standard part of a head service unless the customer asks for it to be done.
What is part of 'standard' head service...?

Same question here, if they don't service the selonoid which I'm very surprise about. What are some of the requirement that ISC perform when doing a head service?

I'm sure that kind of information is on ISC's web site.

Not, maybe I just missed it or maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

Re: Solenoid Servicing

Does, anyone know how much a new solenoid costs?.
Depending on the cost it might be easier just to replace the solenoid every couple of years

The current and correct (earlier versions were not stainless in critical areas thus rusting) replacement Jaksa solenoid is several hundred dollars (as in like $600 ~ $700 USD) according to Steven at ISC.

Wow ! That seems VERY expensive. I have no other point of reference, but somehow expected a lot less than that.

Servicing the Jaksa seemed pretty easy to me. I had some good advice to make sure all the threads on the fittings were clear of PTFE tape. I used a very small stainless steel brush on a dremel followed by a good long blast my ultrasound bath, and had a good look with a mangifier afterwards. So far. so good. Incidentally, the interior of mine was squeaky clean after the first year of use, with only the o-rings requiring some attention

Cheers
Steve

When I replaced mine around Jan-Feb of this year it was 150USD, so perhaps that was the incorrect soon to rust model??
