| Tank bands on meg canister I want to change my tiger gear to the lighter shadow gear on my meg canister. However I found the tank bands on the meg canister to be fused together( done in factory). I also noticed the factory fitted tank bands come with the black sleeve. Having no experience in changing pony brackets, will tank bands without the sleeve hold the clamp firmly by just screwing it tightly? Hope someone can help me out. Thanks Derek |

| Re: Tank bands on meg canister Hi Jo_C, Thanks for the tip. I supposed it is ok to put the stainless steel tank mount over the canister though I am quite skeptical if just screwing tight the tank band will give me enough grip compared with factory fused version. derek |

| Re: Tank bands on meg canister The bands will grip just fine without the sleeves but they do protect the can. If you don't like the sleeves slip a cut piece of tire inner tube over the cannister the width of the band. ISC does not fuse hose clamps that I am aware of they may have corrosion holding them together.

| Thom Susko ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Tank bands on meg canister I would recommend 9/16'' tubular webbing. You can slide it over the hose clamps before attaching them to bottles. Here is where I got mine. BlueWater 9/16'' Tubular Webbing - Climb-Spec from REI.com ![]() Works great for stage bottles also. Thom . |

| Re: Tank bands on meg canister If you're a salt water diver I think you want to stick with the tubular webbing sleeves to avoid corrosion. The clamps shouldn't fused. They must just be a little stuck - sometimes they are finicky. One thing I noticed ISC does, at least on mine, is that the tubular webbing is hot glued at one spot to the band to keep it in place. |

| Re: Tank bands on meg canister Hi Quickean, You are right, the band is corroded so takes a bit of effort and lots of patience to get it undone. Thom thanks for the infor on the tubular webbing. I don't think I can find them over in Singapore but I will improvise using plastic hose or tire tubes. Many thanks to all that contributed. Lance I will think about selling the tiger gears. Derek |
