| Liquid Productions, LLC Current Rebreather/s: | New HUD Interesting, maybe I missed it, but I haven't seen anything on the Meg's new HUD. Just got one of the first out of 5. They now have 2 LED's to compensate for color blind divers who couldn't see the yellow for a 1.0. I re-read the new APEC's manual a second time and didn't see anything on it, so I called and Jim laughed and was wondering when the calls were going to come in. Explained it well and as always incredibly helpful! Looking forward to see if it's better or worse ![]() Last edited by dgschott : 8th February 2008 at 04:41. |

| Liquid Productions, LLC Current Rebreather/s: | Re: New HUD I have yet to play with it - Been busy and it's for my significant other, so I may not even be allowed to play with it... But. I did call Jim at ISC. Apparently they did this to help the people who can't see yellow (a 1.0). So - there will be one LED that is the normal (well now new since it it staight red under .4) ISC pattern, one green LED for 1.1 and above, and both will light for a 1.0. Once again that is my understanding - basically all it does is avoid the yellow at a 1.0. |

Hey Guys,Here is a quote from another forum from Jerry Whatley:- "The new HUD uses two single color LEDs for PO2 display. The LED facing the diver is always red and the vertical LED is always green. The blink pattern is identical to the old LED other than at a PO2 of 1.0 both LEDs blink. This change was to accommodate color blind divers and difficulty in determining color in high ambient light conditions." Lance

| Closed Circuit Divers Aus Current Rebreather/s: | Re: New HUD Hey Lance, I only know what I have relayed here from Jerry but the way I see it. If both LEDs blink together the PO2 is 1.0, if the Red blinks twice three times each cell is reading 0.8 and if the Green blinks twice three times each cell is reading 1.2just to see if i get it right, both lead blink only when sp is 1? who made this hud?ISC? any more info? Yes....ISC are now supplying it with both APECS and COPIS units. Regards, Lance

![]() ![]() | Re: New HUD Are there any more changes that ISC have introduced that we should be aware of just incase we were thinking of getting a new unit. Their web site still shows the 2.0X head and tiger mounts. No sign of shadow mounts or ISC wing etc. Mark |
