| Mouthpiece I wanted to put a Seacure mouthpiece on my DSV, but after going to a shop and looking at the 3 different mouthpieces Seacure offers, I realized none of them will fit. Are there any of the moldable mouthpieces that fit the Meg DSV? Mike |

| I know absolutely nothing about this, so please don't shoot me, but I was told not to use a Seacure mouthpiece because it contributes to C02 retention. I asked why and was told that it does not hold you mouth open wide enough. Is there any truth to this??? Rich |

There was a thread on this on the nwrebreather list that I started by asking this question for the KISS. IIRC, there were respondents that used it on the Meg (and one very visible one I remember in particular). The Seacure model that gets it done on the KISS is the "pro" model, which you have to ask for as I don't believe they advertise it. Even for the KISS there were mixed responses, some yay, some nay due to (expected) increased WOB. I find the pro model works great on my KISS, whereas the standard model leaked occaisionally. I'm sitting here measuring the Meg and KISS DSV orifices and they look about the same diam. The standard KISS mouthpiece leaked a fair amount. I replaced that with a US Divers Comfo. mouthpiece and that seems to have stopped the leak issue + it's comfortable. As per the Meg. the standard mouthpiece seems a tad longish but I have not had an issue with it. Perhaps the US Divers comfo. would fit it? Just a thought. |

The Seacure Pro also leaked for me at first. Then I saw a thread here on rebreatherworld where IIRC the Seacure popped off of the KISS DSV This made me look more closely at mine I had used a fairly wide tie wrap that did not conform very well to the mouthpiece on the DSV orifice. When I replaced it with a thinner more flexible tie wrap that was more readily cinched down, all the leaks evaporated. Whatever works ![]() |

Hey Mike, Are there any of the moldable mouthpieces that fit the Meg DSV? Mike hate the mouth piece that the meg comes with so I switched it to a secure that used to have on scubapro S600. When I first tried putting it on, it wouldn't fit. I looked at the holes on the secure and the one that came with the meg mouth piece and the openings were both the same size. I boiled some water and dipped the opening part in for a few seconds to loosen it up and whala, it slipped right on (with a little prodding on my part). It holds in my mouth mouth ten times better than the mouth piece that it came with. I haven't tried it underwater yet, but I don't think it will leak as it's on there pretty good. |

Got the same experience in putting it on and long term diving comfort, don't need to bite on it even, it stays right there .... Matt www.protecdiving.com |
