| Closed Circuit Divers Aus Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Shoulder Weighting the Meg Thanks for the great ideas. I like the idea of mounting the weights to the top of the backplate, preferably in a pouch as I will be travelling with the unit and it's no big weight penalty to have a pouch fitted and weights are nearly always available at the destination. The other advantage is you can vary the amount of weight depending if you are diving wet or dry. I like it and will be looking into it further to see how I can adapt it to my BP. I wasn't happy with having the weights sitting up on top of the tanks in plain view as it looks "Crappy" even though it works well enough. I have seen the SS handle and it looks great but don't think it'll be weighty enough to get me trimmed. Maybe with the full SS backplate it'll be right but as I have it with the skeleton plate it will be way too light. I'd like to see some pics of how you have mounted your pockets Jo_c, and thanks Gabe and everyone else. Regards, Lance

Puts all the weight of your valves and regs up near your head (instead of your ), and will contribute significantly to trimming you out without adding a mg of weight (actually will reduce weight as you'll need to shorten your hoses).Very easy to place valve handles for easy and quick reach. ![]() G |

Cheers. Spyros

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Shoulder Weighting the Meg I just attached weights to the tanks. Currently Im using 2 lbs on each tank. I would like to just have a 4lb handle (hint to Monkey) and stop using these weights. Humm, might slip off easily. Hose clamps work well but try using small cam bands, similar to the ones sold by SDS. Mel's Meg1.jpg

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Shoulder Weighting the Meg My Meg came with the set-up for de-inverted cylinders. Tried it and hated it. Had to then buy the correct hoses to go back to the original configuration but it does seem to suit plenty of others. |
