Re: how much lead?

Isn't this a how long is a piece of string question?

Get in the water and do a weight check? Thats the only way to answer this.

Re: how much lead?

I agree. There is so much variation between divers - bodymass/undersuits/suit etc its impossible to give a sensible answer. However, for what its worth, I found I'm using pretty much the same weight as I used with either my twin faber 12's or twin 7.5's (suprisingly these twinsets had almost identical bouyancy). I could have probably taken off a kilo but prefer to have a bit more gas in the suit when its cold! So if you are already using a twinset, start with the same and work up or down from that.
Cheers

Re: how much lead?

The other alternative is to weigh yourself with all of your gear out of the water. Then slip into a pool and find out how much weight you need to be weighted correctly.

Your weight out of the water plus the weights you used to be weighted corectly will tell you how much water you displaced. multiply that by the density of sea water and you will know what your new total weight needs to be in the ocean. Then just add weight accordingly.
