Mine came with an Aluminum backplate, too- I don't know if you can order it with a steel one, but that's how mine came. why dont you like the shadow mounts? i just took my class and have the Tiger gear, but the other guys in the class had the shadow mounts and they looked much more streamlined.

![]() | Re: New Meg Nice choice on the steel tanks... You will find that they trim you out a lot better. I suggest the head only calibration kit, the spares kit, stainless backplate and one or two of the ISC "D" rings to clip off your slings. They do dig into the arm a bit, but I find the added ease of clipping in to more than make up for it because I do most of my diving in cold water with thick gloves on. If you dive a lot in warm water, the AL backplate might be fine, but I find that I can dive dry in fresh water with no added weight having the steel tanks and plate. I was also glad I got the harness from ISC because they sew it up so the bottom of your counterlungs clip off to little straps that "Y" off from your crotch strap. I've only seen photos of the shadow mounts, but I very much like the tiger gear I have. Have fun! |
