Re: Meg travel

After some hassles of various kinds involving the weight and visual appearance of Pelican cases, I switched to plain Samsonite "Oyster" hardshells and foam pads.
Three years on...no hassles, no damages, and no problems.

Re: Meg travel

Hi,
i have always travelled with rebreather inside the rigid suitcase Samsonite Oyster 2.
I'ts lightest than a pelycan, it has comfortable wheels for the transport, and above all it is anonymous.
Nothing problems in customs and less possibility than stoll.

Bon Voyage

Aldo

Model 821
Size (in.) 20.9 x 12.9 x 8.4
Description 821 Dry Case
Tough injection molded o-ring sealed carrying case protects contents from dust and water. Many options make this case adaptable to most applications. Ideal protection for instrumentation, sales presentation packages, test equipment, photographic equipment, guns and other delicate equipment

* Tough ABS construction withstands 7 foot drop to concrete
* Padded fold-down ABS handle
* Strong ABS snap latches
* Optional user configurable pluck foam filling or instrument panel mounting ring
* Full length hinge, padlock loops and two front latches secure contents
* Pressure equalization valve allows easy opening after altitude or temperature change
* Interlocks in stacks with same or mixed sizes

This is what I use. I carry it on. It's within legal limits in the US. Fits everything except the loop hoses and the tanks.

Just to clarify, the 32kg limit has nothing to do with airline luggage allowances for excess baggage etc. The 32kg limit is an international airline OH&S rule. No airline in the world is allowed to accept a bag weighing over 32kg's, as the baggage handlers aren't allowed to lift it... (yeah yeah, before you all jump in, on the day, I'm sure some exceptions have been made, but these are the rules...)

Hope this helps...

Re: Meg travel

Why does everybody use watertight cases? Seems overkill to me. I don't have a rebreather, but I carry around all my scuba junk in this:
http://www.containerstore.com/browse...1&PRODID=62806

Conforms to airline luggage sizes, and is pretty durable.

I have one of those. Got it at Wal Mart I think. My dog needed a swimmin pool for summer and he loves it.

It is tough too. He's pretty rough. It hilarious to watch.. LOL....

I wanted a tough carry on. I use them for Camera gear also with foam. It just happened to fit a meg also.
