![]() ![]() | I just got my Megs...and thought I would share some info!! Ok, I have been waiting since early Nov. to get my Megs and now I have. I ordered two of the Meg complete (in fact I said that I want two of your best setups, wiith everything!) units and was told that I would either need to order the tiger gear mounts of get my own...so I ordered some tank mounts from oxycheq, $210.00. When I opened my box I was surprised to see that it really was complete, to include the ISC tank mounts ( very nice little set up!!! ) and all of the little extras I thought I would have to get seperatly, like the ADV auto shut off... basically the only thing it didn't have was a BOV. the tanks had a VIS completed and everything else was already assembled (tan mounts etc..) The T connectors APPEAR to be a little lower profile than the ones in some of the other pictures I have seen. The hoses only clear the locking ring by about 1/4 inch. So aside from bragging I wanted to let you know if you ordered a meg complete it really is COMPLETE despite what you might get told elsewhere. So save your money and don't buy the mounts becauuse the ISC mounts are really nice, and in my opinion better than the tiger gear... I leave for training Friday, but I will try to get some pictures up between now and then.

Shawn, I'm coming back to Kansas City sometime in the first two weeks of December. I was thinking of bringing my Meg to do a lake dive in Lakewood or somewhere close by. Will you be done with your training by then? We could just do an easy dive if you are comfortable. I believe LW drops to a little over 100 ffw, but I've never dived there before. My house there is right across the street from the East Lake. Is the LS Underwater Rescue Team still doing their training dives there off the dam? Eric

![]() ![]() | Re: I just got my Megs...and thought I would share some info!! I will be finished with training on the 9th so if your in town after that I wouldn't mind getting another dive in at all. I'm not sure where Lakewood is...I was a recovery diver for LSURR for a while and we trained at Lake Jacomo, not very good vis and you need permission. Beaver lake is really nice to dive, and I don't think stockton lake is horrible either... Table Rock lake is another good option as well. Let me know when you are in town and I'm sure we can figure something out. Send me a PM and I will get you my contact info. Thanks for the invite.

![]() ![]() | Re: I just got my Megs...and thought I would share some info!! I just looked at your location and I will be in your neck of the woods next week for my training. We're going to be training at the Grotto...I hope it's good diving....but then again I would dive my bath tub if it was deep enough.

We have a big dive going on the 30th of Nov., but after that I'm free to dive down here or up in KC. Lakewood is right across the street from Jacomo. Lakewood is a private lake, but my family has a house there, so there shouldn't be a problem. I can check into it. Who are you doing your Meg checkout with in High Springs?

![]() ![]() | Re: I just got my Megs...and thought I would share some info!! mempilot- found the lake, I think that would be great. My dive partner has dove it beffore and he said that the vis can be pretty good at times, so I say we shoot for it. brandonmc- If you are taking theclass with Leon I will be there along with my dive partner Mike. We have been looking forward to the class all month.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: I just got my Megs...and thought I would share some info!! I bought my Meg stripped, and subsequently buying and/or using bits of gear I had already. With hindsight, it would've been better to have acquired the complete Meg as you have done. I generally recommend likewise to anyone who is thinking of purchasing one. Other (subjective) recommendations de-invert your tanks install Golem side-mount kit install BOV (Golem has my vote) plumb-in offboard bail-out Check out the library section for articles from Verdier, Micjan, others on gear setup and general diving safety. Congradulations. |
