Anyone have any pics of the ISC mounts? Opinions of them versus some of the other systems out there? Especially Northern Diver mounts?

I'm looking at ordering a unit early next year and this is one of the areas I'm still deciding on. I looked at the tiger mounts, the ND mounts and one other which I can't recall, and I liked the ND best. Wasn't aware that ISC had their own version, seemed as everything from them came with Tiger Mounts.

Here are some good pics of ISC's new mounts. They are slick.

de-invert your tanks
Gilles, I dive a Meg and love it. If I were to purchase another, I would buy the stripped and build it up. But I had to go through the process once to have that opinion. It is hard to understand until one has started to customize their unit.

How come you suggest de-inverting you tanks? What are the benefits? If this has been covered, please point me in the right direction.

My unit is setup with:

2x SS BP, 6lbs of lead bolted to the bp, Golem BOV, SS manifold, offboard dil plumbing, steal 19cuft, g-snaps, 32lbs donut wing, o2 on the exhalation CL and the hoses routed inside the CLs.. I had been doing most of my diving in NJ with a dry suit. I am going to have to dial back the weight when I bring the unit down to Playa.

Hans

I like the ISC mounts just fine...They are a very tight fit and the tanks do not rattle around. I personally think the Meg complete is the way to go, just order a steel back plate. If you order a stripped meg you'll just end up spending more money. BTW the ISC mounts are only good for tanks that are 40 cuft and smaller. If you want to mount something bigger then I would go with the tiger gear mounts.

I've never used Tiger gear so I can't compare well, but I do like the shadow gear for the most part. I would recommend greasing the pins regularly as they will get crusty and stick making it quite difficult to get them out/tanks off.

enjoy your new MEGS!!
