Lance,

Sorry just trying to get my head around your "We even went one better and placed a non-return valve in the circuit to isolate the dil tank from being contaminated in the event you forget to shut the tank valve and the pressure was higher in the stage tank than the dil, which would most likely be the case."

It might just be me having a slow day, but how on earth does the dil and/or stage tank get contaminated by gas return flow? Surely the gas in the hoses is at ~10bar, there is a pressure reducer (the 1st stage) between the hose and the cylinder which is at ~200bar, the gas flow down not up.

Sure, if your dil/stage cylinder is empty = possible gas contamination issue, but I would be more worried about water ingress instead...

Wouldn't your risk analysis be better in removing the o-rings / joins & therefore complexity from the system and not run the one way valves?

Regards
Brad

Hey Brad,

That's the most intelegent comment I have heard all day.......Of course!!!

Thanks for the input.

Re: Meg Manifold

Hi All

Thanks to lance I have one of these manifolds and it works great, having done a week long diving on it. The original idea was just to clean up the hose routing from the dil side and allow the manipulation of a different off-board gas via an M+j quick disconnect my manifold sits a little further back from the t and cannot be seen when worn. I have not added the swivels as I run straight of the 4 main ports. I can now access my BOV, ADV, WING, DRY SUIT with both onboard + off board gas, total gas loss would otherwise result in a loss of buoyancy(wing) and all other functions I could of course add gas manually via the mixed gas bypass but would not have access to the other components. I would also like to ad that it is very annoying having the big BOV floating right in front of your face while breathing from the stage reg for 2 hrs if bailout now theirs no need I can use the bov as the reg.

Not sure what you guys are ranting about it’s the same as a manifold on the inspiration.

I forgott to add that on the hose routed to the quick disconect (plug to offboard) I have an m+j isolator, so i can have both the on-board tank and off-bourd tank open without gas mixing in the manifold and suppling me an unknown gas.

Good job lance

With 4 ports instead of 3 on the Inspo......
I'm slowly recovering after the beating I got earlier

Re: Meg Manifold

Could I interest you in a spare redundant switch-block and elbow I have?

Cheap cheap

But seriously, with this http://www.rebreatherworld.com/bail-...tml#post136402

I can use both on-offboard dil to feed either ADV or BOV, and then switch to pure O2 (Access to all onboard gases). I can dive without an offboard tank with limits determined by the amount of bailout I have onboard.

You could/should've learned from my mistakes.
