How was your trim with the horizontal tank on bottom of the stand ?
Hi phi

For me, no problem whatsoever.

Its in my centre of gravity and where I put all my weight which now totals only 8 pounds, tomorrow I am going down to 6lbs on a dive to see how I go.

I will be replacing the faber with an ally just to lighten things up a little.

Also note I am using faber tanks on the Meg and I am NOT using any weight on the conterlungs, this is important, my trim improved tremendously once I removed the weighting in the counterlungs.

I bet. OK, let me be more specifik then. I want my rig smaller, lighter and more compactand and I don't want no extra things attached (like a stand). I am aware of the fact that making the changes on my rig will only have minor improvements on drag.

Hi Rebreather World

... but I want to protect the bottom of the can as much as possible so it doesn't end up looking like my old one.

A scratch here and there is ok man. Look at mine (apology for bad photo). One gouge was from one of my first real wreck penetration in Truk lagoon, and another was from hitting the ceiling of a poor cave in Mexico that had to tolerate my lack of skill.

Meggy needs little protection. She's rough and tough and doesn't mind being that way .

Beautiful isn't she?

I could be accused of having an inappropriate relationship with my Rebreather.

Re: How do I avoid scrathes on the bottom of my new movie meg can?

Hi again

Just wanted to send a small update on the thread. I dived my new movie can yesterday. For now, the bottom of the can is temporally protected with duct tape until I find a better solution.

I could be imagining this, but my trim felt way better with the new shorter can and the smaller 2l. tanks. I think my investment will turn out to be worth every penny...

All I need to do now is replace some of the LP hoses that are 10cm to long, then it's perfect for my use.

Safe diving

Christian
