Can any one tell me when the new 3.0 meg software will be available

I was told that the software for the new ver. is ready actually however they are still working on the handsets....
Someone close to isc told me they are going for oled displays on the handsets and if this is true it would be awesome!
Can anyone confirm on the rumors about some form of co2 monitoring?

I heard that APECS 3 will have 5 sensors for added redundancy and GPS navigation in it as well. How cool is that?

Yup, that would be my email you confused Lance's with. I too already have (and already had at the time of my email) a Meg. I was enquiring about further training while I was visiting Hawaii next June. I merely repeated your speculation, without naming names, that the Apecs 3 should be available by the time of my training at this time. Presumably you feel it must be fairly imminent otherwise you wouldn't bother to put the copy on your website. I didn't go so far as to point people in the direction of your website etc. I'm sure most Meg instructors would still maintain this claim while also providing the obvious disclaimer that it will be available when its available

Thanks for confirming that Steve. My sources say that there is a bailout feature that launches a "buddy", insures your respiration, and performs an ascent according to VPM or RGBM.

I would never want to correct you, but I think the GPS feature is only activated if the "buddy" does not find a surface rescue vessel within a diver selectable time. I think the only snag holding things up is movie rights. Hope the source is credible.

Have you ever seen Airplane the movie? You know that blow-up pilot? Is the "Bailout Buddy" similar to that? It could be called the BBAP (bailout buddy auto pilot). I think think the BBAP should be next to the ADV, down stream side of the SDV, (where your HUD is mounted) that way if you glance down at your P02 and see that you have to much 02 in your mix, and go to add DIL but realize something isnt working right you can activate your BBAP.

Is that where the APECS 3 is coming from?

OLED display would be nice, but its also a possible production glitch as well.. The main OLED manufacturer in the world went belly up... (just look at all your normal dislay suppliers, they all have dropped most of their oled products) There are a few others producing color OLED and some graphic single color oleds.. The large "cell" OLEDs were very power efficient but sadly both them and the even better pleds are currently history... It would take between 1-2 years for a startup to replace them..

there was a time we were looking into OLED for the rEvodream.... would never have worked with the actual batterries, power consumption was always far to high

OLED/PLED displays are a good substiute for larger displays that need backlighting.. The power draw is small compared to these displays but larger than a smal lcd display without a bl or one that can be powered by a single led.. Determining the power requirements PLED/OLED displays can be a bit tricky becuase the requirements vary with what is being displayed..
