congrads to Dave Tomblin, Canada's first Meg Instructor

Well it's official, Dave Tomblin (wedivebc) has finished his instructor training with Yoda the Jedi Meg Master (Leon) and is now the very first and currently the ONLY Megalodon instructor in Canada. Will you all please join me in a rousing round of applause for Dave. We wernt really sure he would make it, what with the gimpy leg, the glass eye, and his affinity for diving with split fins and a poodle jacket BC, but he went and suprised us all. Well done Mate!

I first met Dave back in '99 when he was running a dive charter boat for Technically Speaking, out of Nanaimo, BC. We managed to meet up again for our PADI IE in Vancouver, BC a couple years later. Dave has been diving, training and being trained since I met him and has amassed well over 1,000 dives and almost enough cert cards to play pinochle.

Dave trains divers out of The Dive Outfitters in Nanaimo BC and is an instructor with credentials from ANDI, PADI, PDIC and TDI, and probably TWA, CAA and the KKK just for good measure.

First and only Meg Instructor in Canada??? Lets do hope that the extremely wise folks at ISC keep it that way (for Western Canada anyway) Congratulations are definately in order. <I hay tit when peeple spel this increctlee>

BTW...who the hell is that with the sub-standard size meg and ugly repainted cylinders to Dave's left in pic 4? Bet a guy like that would even drive a funnier looking SUV with a gas replenishment system on the tires.

Impeccable taste in choosing Instructors Leon...And again, thanks Dave...you are #1 in my books anyway.
