Paid for Copis Meg Today

I have just completed my money transfer to pay for a Copis Meg I paid an extra $75 to have a switch on the battery box. I decided to buy the Copis Meg Lite, standard deluxe ali harness to use on holiday, Head only 02 cal kit and the Shadow gear mounts for my cylinders. I am really looking forward to testing it out as I have not dived a Copis yet as I did my crossover on a ECCR Meg.

Louis

PS anyone want to buy a Classic ?

Good deal! I hope you enjoy it more that the CK.
I don't know about the optional switch, does it allow you to switch the unit on without removal of the head?

No but if you did not have the switch you had to unplug a connector and in IMHO I believe this is a bad design as the pins can easily get broken or bent. I know the switch was not added to keep the cost down but I would rather pay extra.

Paul,

Kevin is on holiday at the moment so I will have to wait a bit to get my Hammerhead upgraded and fitted to another meg head.

Yes I think the switch should be standard equipment. It probably will be once Leon has changed a few battery connectors under warranty

PM me if you are serious about selling the classic.

Re: Paid for Copis Meg Today

congrats on your decision. getting used to manual injection takes time but it's not that big a deal. I think you'll love the Copis, it's so versatile and so robust and yet so simple at the same time. I never would have thought I would have gotten so into modifying a unit and wow does the copis lend itself well to that.

the shadow mounts take a bit of maitenance. make sure they are well mated as getting the pin out if they aren't can be a real bugger. I grease them every so often that seems to eliminate the binding.

What are all needed to add the switch to an existing COPIS battery holder ?

Just a different lid with the switch, or more ?

I'd like to know because I have bought some second-hand COPIS battery holders without the switch, and would like to add the switch to them.

The meg battery holder has a reed switch installed in the battery box that a magnet in the lid operates and breaks the circuit. I am not sure whether the copis battery box has the hole drilled for the reed switch or not. If not you have to be very careful drilling it because the reed switch is tiny and quite fragile until it is properly mounted. If you need me to take some measurements for the hole let me know.
