![]() | Meg ADV mods / Intro After a bit of lurking about I'm sending the first post, my name is Paul - okay, that's the introduction admin out of the way. I took delivery of my Meg last week and did my first dives over the weekend. An excellent piece of kit. One mod I need to look at is the ADV - this really is an excellent, well positioned and easy to use ADV but unfortunantely comes fitted only to run off the on-board gas. Due to the kind of diving I do, in the places I dive and with the people I dive with (or not), I generally run any exotic diluent (ie not air) off-board. Whilst the off-board facility on the Meg is available and similar to my Inspiration's configuration, it would be fantastic to have the offboard coming through the ADV with some type of quick connect (I'd rather not have screw in off-board connections). Immediate answer is to put a male quick connect upstream of the flow stop on the ADV hose and plug any gas in there (on- or off-board) but I suspect that there are going to be flow issues. I also don't necessarily want to use the large bore fittings as you get on the Air2 / Auto Air as this will take away the flexibility of all my hoses being able to plug into drysuit, wing, CLs, buddy (no, no, no), etc. I did a very quick archive search but didn't find anything, has anyone looked at this in the past? I could run the off-board as I have been doing on my Inspiration, I could get my own booster and run my exotics on-board or I could mod the ADV but only if it doesn't create another problem. Any thoughts?

![]() ![]() | Re: Meg ADV mods / Intro Maybe you should consider the use of a manifold. I do not do exotic dives but I have installed a Golem BOV and did not wish to switch off in the event of a bailout situation. The manifold supplies the wing inflation, the ADV and the BOV, it is supplied by the onboard gas and the offboard cylinder. The onboard is permanently attached to the manifold and the offboard is plugged in via a low pressure hose with a quick connect. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Meg ADV mods / Intro Paul, You'll find a lot of thing about that when doing a "CEJN" search. That'll solve your "enough flow" question but will limit the compatibility w/ your team mates somewhat to their inflation gas if they have the CEJN drysuit QD. Now for the ADV, I don't see any problem using a standard (Seatec) QD nipple & hose because you can activate the ADV manually before you need to inhale the CL but then it's like using the standard inflator already fitted there. It may be more inetesting for you to look at the manifold solution for your own connections and reserve the possibility to use the standard inflator provided by ISC in order to get gas from your team mates in case you absolutely need to? ![]() ![]() | Re: Meg ADV mods / Intro manifold (2).jpg lung routing (2).JPG Here are a couple of pics to give you an idea as to what is possible. This also allows you the use of the counterlung diluent add so that you have access to your buddy's bail out bottle in case of an emergency. You can also disconnect your offboard anytime to allow gas sharing during emergencies. ![]() |
