Meg counterlung valves advice?

hello guys,

hope you are all well. just wondering if anyone has tried to disconnect the valves from the counter lungs. Someone has showed me once, but when i tried to do it on mine just now, it seems that they are very tight and i thought of asking, in case there is a counterclowise screwing...

if any has pictures within the process, then it would be great.

Cheers all.

All the valves are right hand thread. They are standard sitec drysuit valves. They are quite tight but should be removeable with enough force. The t piece fittings on the other hand require a special tool.

Re: Meg counterlung valves advice?

You can put a small spanner wrench in the CL. There are holes on the bottom of the valves that the spanner wrench will fit into.

Be careful not to tear any holes in the lung.

For what it's worth, I was told that there is a bead of glue/silicone helping to hold them on. Not sure if that is still true since both sets of CLs I have a fairly old.

Re: Meg counterlung valves advice?

I swapped the O2 manual add to the blank port at the bottem of the lung (I have a fourth cell lung, extra port at bottem)

Just makes it easier to access for me.

No glue, no silicone, it just unscrews.

Be warned!! inside the lung the nut is lose and there's a clear washer on top of it. Keep these alingned so as not to lose them in the lung. Might be a bit of a faff to get them lined up again.....

Spyros,

SiTech also has a tool which makes it a lot easier to grip the valves and spin them it works on both the exhaust and add valves. We are in the midst of relocating to Spain and will have them available by the end of July if you can't get your hands on one.

Cheers,
Chris
