![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: wet sorb at the top of my scrubber Hi all, Because of warmth during chemical reaction of the sorb there is absolutely no reason for the sorb to be wet after the dive.Sure there is no leak on my meg, only condensation. Frank. Im afraid you have a leak somewhere that occured perhaps just during dive condition. Half of the canister wet You can imagine having some condensation in the inhale hose which go back in the scrubber when removing your Rebreather ( but IMHO thats dont give you such an amount of water ). Never seen any moisture in my main Rebreather scrubber, sometimes in my home made, I also thought sometimes about condensation but always found a leak in the end. What does Aldo think about that? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: wet sorb at the top of my scrubber As Joe mentioned the scrubber needs moisture to work. Bone-dry scrubber - bad. Whilst diving you should expect water droplets to condense at the top of the acrylic scrubber. This is normal. To clarify things - scrubber at the end of a dive should feel moist in the palm of the hand. However, not slushy. It's like holding a slightly damp paper towel. Wet on the other hand should glisten and granules are slushy/mushy. Your pad at the bottom should be soaked. Since you are finding your pads at the bottom only damp to the touch I suspect you are just dealing with typical moisture in the loop + your pressure tests seem to be fine. BTW - Putting in a hydrophobic membrane probably won't do much (I suspect) other than increasing WOB. I can also imagine that it would tend to aggregate droplets at the bottom of the can. You would still get condensation at the top of your scrubber. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: wet sorb at the top of my scrubber Hi, in case of a leak, it means the same one on our two rebreathers, last wednesday. As I was afraid of that, we did 3 "bubble check" - at the entrance; - during fdecompression at approx. mid dive time; - and a last one just before leaving. No bubble each time. But I'll still have a look at it. Thanks for your advices and councils, Cheers, Frank. P.S.: Hi Marc, nice to read you.
