| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | a 1000 bucks... Update: I don't know if you guys remeber but some months back I had a battery pack from ISC where the plug was on the wrong way and therby switched polarities...but after the shortcut that melted in part my reed switch the unit was still working fine and I kept on using it...I posted a threat back then and got some very good tips from you guys I don't know how to link it but I'm sure you can find it if u search... then about 6 weeks ago I had that solenoid stuck open scenario in a cave here in Mexico and also posted a threat about it and again got some good tipps from you guys that finally convinced me to send the head to service... Well they found out that the problem that caused the solenoid stuck open scenario was from when the battery shortcutted...this in part melted the electronics and parts of the prim. battery box... So obviously I explained them that this happened because one of THEIR battery packs had the plug on wrong and therby caused the shortcut in the first place...But since the Unit was still working fine back then I kept on diving it and when the batteries where finished I threw them away...so I have nothing to proof my story...so they gave me 50% discount on spare parts... But I still pay about 1200$ with transportation...what a **** up...Man, why didn't I keep those batteries??? So lesson to learn, always check the polarity of your batteries EVEN when they come form ISC itself AND never through them away because maybe they created a problem which takes some time to manifest itself...and then you pay, like me... As far as I can remember the Battery had NB as initials on them, so be especially carefull with them... I'm pretty pissed about the whole story and still can't believe that ISC sends batteries with wrong polarity and then charges money for repairing what they broke...of course I wasn't innocent in the whole story neither...ignorance isn't a bliss always... Now I just hope that my unit will arrive soon and won't brake ever again...and I will NEVER buy again a battery pack from ISC... Cheers, Patrick |

![]() ![]() | Re: a 1000 bucks... Which APECS ? I don't think it is connected to any special APECS version.Inside the battery box you can see a copper coil in the old version and a small PCB in the new (protected) one. Regards, Henrik

![]() ![]() | Re: a 1000 bucks... The changed components are inside the batteryboxes and these boxes are used in both APECS and COPIS heads (only one battery box with no on/off switch in the COPIS).
