I find this stuff to be truly crap and after a couple of months it goes hard crusty making the DSV stick and ever harder to turn. Would it not be better to use Silicon Grease for this part of the service ? Cheers Chriso ![]()

I have never had any trouble with christolube except it needs re-lubing every once in a while.I have a question, why are you using Christolube on the DSV body. Oh yea cross contamination. After breathing off my DSV, I am forever slipping the tongue to the HP side of my O2 First Stage and sucking the salt off the Orings. Ohhh gets my all tingly thinking about it.Maybe I should put a prophylactic over my DSV just to make sure I don’t spread the Silicon around ![]() Cheers Chriso

When I service my meg I come in contact with a multitude of parts some are O2 service some are not. Although I use my hands rather than my tongue, but everyone has their own way of doing thingsMaybe I should put a prophylactic over my DSV just to make sure I don’t spread the Silicon around ![]() Cheers Chriso ![]()

| Cap Ron scourge of the NW ![]() ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Megalodon DSV servicing/rebuild Hey Chriso, what up M8? ISC specifies christolube and the x contaminate is another good reason. The stuff works fine and lasts around a year, so Im good with that too. Plus, a servicing takes me about 15 minutes since I have done a few and its no big deal. Stick with the christolube. Cheers.

Thanks, Ron. Your paper on completing this service gave me the confidence to DIY. It may sound mundane for most, but I'm a pilot; so, I naturally break things. My mechanics clean up after my curiousity and stupidity with mechanical devices. This will be a regularly scheduled mx item now. Now, to tackle a solenoid clean/service. Is there a paper for that too? ![]()
