![]() | Re: !!!WARNING!!! Solenoid stuck open scenario. Doesn't the solenoid use the pressure from the o2 supply to close? What was the pressure in your 02 tank and did you check the interstage pressure on the o2 first stage. |

Did you ever determine the cause? Was it the solenoid actually mechanically failing open or was it a quirk in the electronics driving it open?

One thing about the batteries though .. are they original ? If not, can it be that the little sponge inside to keep it from rattling short cuts the batteries ?. I would think not, there should be a sign of a short in the box, a smell ... just a thought ... saludos Matt |

Hi Tek Simple, I didn't determine the cause but I think was caused by software problem but what lead to the software problem I don't know. I replaced bateries and the problem disapear. I'll be taking my electronic Meg to ISC a soon I can arrange a date to do my field technician training with Leon and if I find out what caused I'll post here on Rebreather World. Cheers, |

Any followup/RCA on these two reported incidents? -Tim I can say I have herd about solenoids stuck open on Megs rather a lot. We had two incidents on brand new Megs in our group. I had always wondered if it had something to do with running the unit manually and not keeping the solenoid active? But thats just a personal theory not a fact. The units in our group had Shearwater heads on. These have both been replaced with Apex2. ATB Mark

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: !!!WARNING!!! Solenoid stuck open scenario. I had solenoid issues with the MEG until I became absolutely fastidious about keeping water away from the QD. When I hose it down I do so before I disconnect the O2. I also periodically disassemble the whole thing and clean it with alcohol. Since I have been doing that I have had no issues with the solenoid sticking and I run my unit manually all the time.......
