Question Meg T-Piece Connection

Hi,

Since a few weeks, I notice that the connection T-Piece --> Counterlungs on my 2 Megs become more and more difficult to screw and unscrew.

I cleaned the threads thoroughly. No improvement.
I added a little bit of grease. No improvement.

It starts to become so difficult that I guess some tools will be necessary very soon!!!

Is there anybody who experienced the same kind of problem?

Cheers

Cedric,

When you are connecting / disconnecting try the following.

Disconnecting....

1 - Unscrew till it becomes stiff / hard too turn
2 - Pull t piece up the few mms that you have unscrewed.
3 - Unscrew again as it will now be easy again till it becomes stiff / hard to turn again
4 - Pull t piece up slightly.
5 - Unscrew again (repreat above if neccessary)

Connecting

1 - Push in as far as you can
2 - Screw in untill it becomes tight
3 - Push in a few more mms
4 - Screw in again..
5 - Keep doing that till it is in all the way...

That should sort it out for you!

Hi Stuart,

Unfortunately it's what I do since Day One, and it worked perfectly well for a year. But now I speak about connections that are VERY difficult to screw or unscrew...

Thanks anyway

Cheers

Hi Cedric

I think it is just one of those things

Mine have been like it from day one. I have to grip with two hands to even shift the locking ring no amount of cleaning or greasing makes any difference. a freind of mine has to use "as he describes mole grips" to get his off. I am contemplating using a oil filter wrench if it gets any worse.

on the other hand my girl friends are fine only difference is a year in the age of the units. maybe they have switched suppliers for that piece on the newer units.

my units are tight as well.. the current units are molded while the originals were machined.. also leon is using nylon which WILL absorb some moisture over time and swell slightly..
