OMS vs Faber steel

Anyone use the OMS lp 3L (19cf) steel cylinders on their Meg as opposed to the fabers? Any comments on them if you do?

The last set of Steel tanks I ordered from OMS were made by Faber... some 45's about 6 months ago...

Re: OMS vs Faber steel

OMS does not manufacture cylinders. They are one of Faber's US distributors. Faber also manufactures under the label Blue Steel

IMO, if you can buy a Faber cylinder from someone else, do so. OMS has some bad restrictions on what they cover for warranty of the cylinders they sell. (We, (AIrheads Scuba), used to sell OMS.)

Scubapro cylinders are also Fabers.

Joel at TDL (Rebreather World Sponsor) has about the best prices on Faber LP that I have found.

OMS does not have Faber cylinders anymore. They have not had them since 2003.

Cheers

Re: OMS vs Faber steel

Hmmm... I emailed OMS yesterday, and they said they do have 19cf cylinders that have are hot spray galvanized and painted white. Sounds like faber. Are they from somewhere else?

Re: OMS vs Faber steel

I dont thnk OMS has Faber anymore. When we stopped doing business with them they were experimenting with pressed steel and someone else.

If you want Faber consider another source.
