![]() | MK 15.5 Delivery I just received my MK 15.5 with the new digital secondary from Colin Colkan and she is a BEAUTY!!! It looks like an early Christmas for me . Now I must wait until February to do my training, but that will give us some time to get acquainted. It has offboard O2 and diluent plumbed with isolation valves. I plan to use my old TransPac and Diverite Wreck wing to complete the unit. Anys suggestions regarding the harness/wing would be appreciated or any other info that a newbie could use.I owe many thanks to Rebreatherworld participants for sharing their knowledge and experience in the last year or so. |

Until February you could always fill the scrubber with some sorb, and fill the dil sphere with some o2 and use it in front of the tv with your wife as a surface manager well that's what I've done 4 years ago because I couldn't wait to do the course ![]() ![]() ![]() Have fun Jerome (ex 15.5 lover) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: MK 15.5 Delivery Yes well done - I saw your unit in Colins' workshop a few weeks ago and he showed me the offboard for the O2 - Apart from looking good .....How come you want this setup ?? (not to be rude) Why cant you just run O2 in through the offboard on the the dill side I have put a Y piece in the offboard side so I can have 2 offboard gasses plumbed in and select either one - O2 if I want to - it very simple - nice at the shallow stop on a LONG deco - as the loop bottoms out as the O2 is consumed it auto adds more - always breathing minimum loop volume that way as well. Although the scrubber is HUGE on the 15.5 in warm water maybe 420 -480 minutes there is more minutes in the sphere when its full - about 600 (assuming 1 l/min average - so just curious - as 480mins or 8 hours is a bloody bloody big dive in any case Anyway just curious - you will enjoy you rig alot - my bet is that it will be wet several times before your training starts Have fun Steve L |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: MK 15.5 Delivery Stats1984 - also regarding the harness - and wing setup Dont try to put your old backplate on as it will make the unit sit out along way from your back and make the WOB crap. I made my own and it is in 2 pieces top and bottom that sit flat on the original angles of the unit - so it now contours my back and is as close as possible - WOB is very good - So if you can configure your transpac like this you will be happy - IF you can get hold of an unbent backplate you could cut it half and mount it up at way... but you need to mount it up so you can take it off without taking the centre section out every time - I have used an OMS harness and wing - see the pic Feel free to PM me for any more details - Welcome to the world of milspec rebreathers Steve |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: MK 15.5 Delivery Our friend Enrique at Diving Equipment Specialties in Union NJ makes a great upper and lower hrness attachment plate setup that works with any wings and makes setting up the harness a breeze. I provided to him one of the old Halcyon Mark-15 setups (yes, they made a Mark-15 harness *and* a special wing at one time) and Enrique substantially improved it. He also can provide feet on the bottom so the rig can stan on it's own and is easier to don. Highy recommended. The Colkan electonics are nice, aren't they? I *love* my secondary. Dave |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: MK 15.5 Delivery I use an old Transpac and Dual Rec Wing on my 15, and it couldn't be simpler or more comfortable. Go here and have a look at the simple mounting: Deepdiving.net : The Pearse Resurgence - Mk15 Rebreather See the bolts through the case, 11 inches apart, just put on the wing and Transpac, screw down the nuts, and away you go. Many people try all sorts of ways of putting a backplate on the Mk15/15.5 and none of them work very well. The units were designed to fit the divers back, not to be bolted to some non-ergonomic abortion that someone with a bending press dreamed up. Cheers, Jason. |
