BioMarine Prototype?

There's an auction on ebay for a photo from BioMarine of what appears to be a prototype of the Mk 15 etc.

Carl Cording BIOMARINE PA Diver Harvey Baskin PHOTO - eBay (item 320221078357 end time Feb-27-08 19:53:42 PST)

Anybody know what it is?

Dan

Re: BioMarine Prototype?

There may be a mistake here. See, what you have here is a photo of the first prototype of the car top Yakima "aerodynamic" container for use with your ski racks and camping gear. Perhaps the early designers felt hydrodynamic performance would be a good indicator for future aerodynamic efficiency. Not sure why they mounted in backward on the diver. Perhaps he swam in reverse so his head would not affect the water flow.

Re: BioMarine Prototype?

It is a Biomarine but I don't know the model. There is a paragraph with photos in the 1979 second edition of the NOAA Diving Manual Chapter 4.3. Closed-Circuit Mixed Gas Scuba
