![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | trouble shooting Mk15 secondary Digital Board... Homebuilder comments too please!!! okay, I had posted some questions about this in the homebuilders forum, but I got the thing working... mostly... I was hoping that other Mk15.X peeps might be able to shed some light on how to fix this... hopefully it can be fixed... I resoldered everything, and fixed the board based off a working secondary of the same make/ model/ etc... Right now I have not connected the board to a cable and thus, not connected to cells; however... I have the correct voltage reading with the swtich in Cell 3 and 2 positions I get a reading of zero, as expected ...With the switch in cell 1 positions I get an increasing value ... it peaks at about 2.33, then hovers around 2.15... (so it is seeing a voltage from somewhere? )...any advice?... please help... hoppyinca |

I think my "resolution" was that I had used the wrong type of flux for my soldering. This was causing the meter to read when there should have been nothing. Can't explain it. Don't know enough. Just couldn't figure out why when i reconnected everything correctly I still had problems. It took a lot of clean up and now my secondary works well thanks to a cool guy in TX that sourced a replacement rotary switch for me. We are having a lunar eclipse tonight around midnight here in HI so I'm off to nap. |

I don't think it will work well as shown in the pic... but note the cell reading, stable and in air (this was the cell position which was previously increasing erroneously) ...digMk15brd_rebuild_002_testSat.jpg will post pic once in housing... hoppyinca |
