| Swimmin' upstream Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Tips on modifying Mk15 scrubber Thanks Kev, but there is no way in hell that the 15.5 is anywhere close to as much as a pain in the ass as the 15 to fill. You can overfill nearly any canister, and I like gardening! Charlie, I know why your thumb is green and it ain't from gardening. Pull it out of that Key Lime pie... You won't find a plumb in there.Aloha, Charlie On the scrubber design... I realize the 15.xs are both difficult. I was thinking perhaps a self packing design. Or at least something that encourages the sorb to conform a little as tension is applied. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Tips on modifying Mk15 scrubber Billy's was a Mk15/CCR1000 center section and counterlung My Mk15 came from SMI as one of these 'hybrid' Mk15's with 15.5 cannister and plexidome. It was a totally useless POS. The cannister doesn't quite sit properly, the seals don't quite fit properly, and holding the plexidome down, well, doesn't quite work properly.assembly, with a Mk15.5/Mk16 scrubber and plexi-dome. The scrubber had to be sealed the same way as the Mk15/CCR1000 - with the large rubber sealing band to stop CO2 passing by. That, combined with the 'better' piss-weak plastic tubing for gas delivery meant it swiftly went in for a full rebuild at Colkan, using the correct parts that were meant to work together. Now it's a Mk15.5 chassis/gas system, with a complete Mk15 centre section. Yes, an easier to fill Mk15 cannister would be great, but the 15.5 cannister is not the solution. Cheers, Jason. |
