Whenever I ask someone who I think should know how many 15s are being dived currently I get a shrug of the shoulders. So here it goes. I'll put it out there. If you have a 15 and would like a top loading scrubber... shout out. If there are enough of us to make it financially feasible I'll have a go at a production run. Price will be determined by the end design and the total number built. What say you all?

Todd

its a piece of cake to modify an existing mk15 scrubber to make it top loading.

How about a "breakdown" of that process? I'm sure you can make it top loading without a problem, but would you want to dive it afterward? I'm not saying it can't be done, but if it were that easy, why wouldn't every 15 diver have done it already?

I am interested as long as the price is fair.

One construction that I have thought about would be to make a scrubber very similar to the existing one only with even inner walls so that a foam pad cut to size could hold the sorb in place. The foam pad would be attached by springs to the lid and the lid held in place by a few screws or latches. Acctually this way you could reuse the top and bottom plates of the original scrubber w/o modification.

why not - its not hard to design. You can do something with the original parts as mentioned above or (probably easier/better) just fabricate a new scrubber using a foam compression pad like the 16s

It's just that you made it sound like you could do the whole thing in 5 minutes with a screwdriver. I don't doubt that it can be done, I was just intrigued.

Charlie, don't you know that something of that sophistication would take a Leatherman! Surely not more than 10 minutes, though.

I'm with Hoppy,

Continuing the theme I think a stainless hoop to add a little more weight to that already light top end. I just dig metal.
