![]() ![]() | MK15.5 scrubber foam replacements. Hi I've slowly being collecting the hours on my 15.5, which has been great but I've noticed my foam (that sits above and below the scrubber) to be degrading pretty quickly. I'd like to get some replacement foam, does anyone know of a source in the UK? What type of foam should I be asking for? Anything in particular to avoid? Cheers Hugh |

Hi Dont know about the UK but in singapore I searched for companies that manufacture foam for furniture etc. They mould it in a big block (perhaps 6' cube) then bandsaw it into the required thickness sheets. You can select colour and foam density (usually the two are paired that way)I've slowly being collecting the hours on my 15.5, which has been great but I've noticed my foam (that sits above and below the scrubber) to be degrading pretty quickly. I have tried various foams but the stuff that Colkan in Australia provides is pretty darn good, for two reasons: 1. Colkan (Colin and Kane Wilcox) cut the three (for under, over and inside the scrubber) pieces exactly to spec. 2. They use a foam that holds a lot of moisture but still allows gas to pass easily. So for me, definitely worth the not-unreasonable price. cw[at]colkan.com +61 (2) 6644-5223 21 Pacific Highway Ulmarra NSW 2462 Australia * Also, you dry your foam by pressing it flat in a towel, as opposed to wringing it out, right?

![]() ![]() | Re: MK15.5 scrubber foam replacements. Thanks for that, I have nothing but good things to say about Colkan, they saved my bacon a couple of months ago by rushing a new 1st stage to me before a job I had, and were extremly patient with my incessent phone calls. People who are that friendly, good at what they do and able to impart information in a way that I can understand need to be treasured! I did look into getting foam replacement cut locally, however, and found a place today that matched the foam, and could cut it to shape. With a minimum order requirement of £5 (surprisingly low I thought for an industrial unit) I will soon be the proud owner of 17 pieces of cut foam, which ought to keep me going for sometime! I'll wait and see how it performs however, before ruling out another call to Colkan... All the best |
