![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I searched the forum but couldn't find what I wanted so thought I'd post here. Does anyone know what the Ali case which comes with the CK weighs? I'm thinking of moving it back to the SS case and ditching the difference in weight? I can take the KISS apart but wondered first if anyone knew off hand? I know Rich Clark had a few made up which were 7kg, but he stated the Ali case weighs about 5kg. Is this right? I can weight the SS Portland Eng case later. I have a SS Portland Eng case for my CK. I bought the KISS with it configured with the SS case but found it very heavy in the water and out. I now know that perhaps it was my heavy weight belt and loose then tight then loose harness (in an attempt to get comfortable) which made the first dive uncomfortable. Plus, I've dived only in fresh water. Should I add a couple more kg for sea water. I sed to dive the same weight and live with the extra by filling the wing when I dived twin 12s. Cheers, Dave C |

Hi Dave,I use the ali case with a sacrificial anode and first started out with the same weight as I carried for the twin 12's. I quickly found that I was wayyy too heavy. I then gradually reduced the weight I carried and until I have halved the weight on the CK and my DIL consumption as dropped dramatically as I don't need so much wing inflation gas now I use the same weight in freshwater and the sea.Have fun Anke

Cheers, Dave C I don't remember saying that the ali case weighs 5kg... but I may have? The SS case and spine we made added around 6kg to the total rigged weight. I'll weight the ali case in a bit and let you know mate. Cheers Rich PS - the SS case replaces the weight belt and distributes the weight over your back.

I learnt two things, 1) the case and spine weight 3kg, 2) i've eaten far too much and drank too much beer over the last few months Cheers Rich
