| RBW Member | Re: GG Dil Manual Injection Valve in a CK I received in my parts today and got right to work. I went for an off the shelf connection, and used the following parts: (2) 3/8-24m x 9/16-18m adapters, 1 omniswivel elbow (identical to the o2 add elbow), omniswivel QD/check valve, and a shutoff in there for good measure. I had wanted the valve to sit a bit lower than the KISS valve on the opposite side, and for this I used a 24" and a 26" miflex hose. From there it's pretty much plug and play: A wrap of teflon tape around the elbow before threading it carefully into the unused inlet on the scrubber head. The unused inlet is positioned differently than the o2 side inlet, and routing the hose under the lip of the counterlung case (as on the o2 side) does make accessing the counterlungs a bit more difficult, but it's already a pain so who cares! This is actually where the removable manifold comes in handy, just swing it out of the way for a clear shot to the lungs. Both 3/8-9/16 adapters went into the valve, with the isolator on the inlet side, and the outlet side heading right back up to the scrubber elbow. Simple as that! The valve feels pretty solid, and flows a significant amount of gas when fully depressed. It does function as a gas block, another user had previously speculated that the button placement would isolate the onboard and offboard gas supplies, but this is not the case, and your offboard will feed your manifold (check your IP's to make sure you're getting the gas you want, or just use isolators). The Golem CCR wing allows for pretty clean hose routing, and there is clearance on the valve for both hoses, even with a full size isolator on there. Thanks to Jakub at Golem for making a nice valve (and wing ) and providing one stop shopping for (almost) all the needed fittings, as well as Jason and Justin at Diveseekers, who stock the KISS scrubber head elbow and whatever sized hoses (and whatever else) you need for a tidy installation.New elbow on head, and feed from manifold (hose routing needs to be tidied up but you get the idea) Fully assembled: |
