You can, and I have done, connect a shearwater to the port.or anyone know how i can connect 2 x loop-intergrated constant po2 computer to my sport kiss? You will need to purchase a double-ended fischer cable, but otherwise, you can just plug it in and it'll work. there is no extra draw on the cells, and if you need to remove the shearwater, or the urm, you can still use the other computer without having to worry about re-calibrating. Attaching a VRX may be possible too, but I'm not sure on that. You cannot connect a VR3, at least not while reading 3 cells - it may work to monitor 1. hope this helps |

| Re: back up computer / display So in other word I can connect a shearwater to the back up sensor port. But where do i get the double ended fischer cable? do i order that together at shearwater? (i haven't bought the shearwater yet) i have already a vr3 monitoring my 3 po2 cells connect to the VR3 port at the URM, so this setup wouldn't affect the vr3? Do you think a shearwater will be a better computer to buy compare with the new vrx? i like the vr because it is cool and it is colour!! many thanks!! |

The Shearwater is FAR superior (IMVHO) to the VR£, simply because its simpler- the VR series computers are massively complicated for their task, on a KISS (any rebreather) you want simplicity and ease of use. Did you need to read the manual to use your VR£? A Shearwater can be handed to a Novice OC diver and they'll be able to set it up in 5minutes- that is testament to its simplicity and ease of use, exactly what you need underwater!I guess (hope) you where joking about it being Cool and in Colour cause they are both as useful as a Chocolate teapot when it comes to PPO2 monitoring and Deco, but then you knew that (Biggest step back Jetsam ever made was to embrace the URM in my humble opinion- Shearwater Computer + HUD is cheaper, simplier, easier to use, more reliable, cleaner installation etc)I suspect both Shearwater or Narked@90 could sort you out a cable I'd wager and hook up a GF or Pursuit for deco/PPO2 usage. |
