| Fitting a Mares Proton to the BOV Hello all, I use a KISS BOV which came unfortunately fitted with the so-famous Paragon. I have since ordered a Mares Proton as well as the adapter kit from Jetsam, which just arrived a couple of days ago.Last night, I started to assemble it, only to find that the reg doesn't fit in the adapter. Did you guys have had to use a saw and cut it off ? The little ledge where the rubber mouthpiece attaches prevents it from sliding into the adapter. If I cut this off, what will the steel retainer catch on ? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| MCCR+Shearwater | Re: Fitting a Mares Proton to the BOV The Jetsam Mares adapter is for the plastic Protons as you do indeed need to cut the end of the mouthpiece off- check the many other threads on here and Jetsams Website. Jetsam have now changed to provide a Prestige Reg from Mares instead but still obviously a plastic bodied one. See Stuarts webpage for a step by step guide- Converting to Mares BOV The metal clip holds the Mares via the edge of the label- which your metal version does not have...
