Question Wing/Suit LP ports

Don't know if it's standard or not, as I just got my hands on my new (well new to me) KISS tonight however the LP ports for wing/suit on mine point out and up at my right shoulder (as in the pic below).
So, is this normal? and if it is, how do people route hoses? Do you use some sort of 90deg bend or just a longer hose doubled back on itself?
Any ideas? (not that I'm itching to bolt on a spare wing and take it for a play lol)
Thanks,
Smudge

Re: Wing/Suit LP ports

Well, it looks like you have one of the eary classic KISSes. They had the O2 and dil tanks reversed (rich left, lean right) so all the associated attchments were also reversed.

There should be another port on your manifold on the inboard side, which can take a wing inflate hose.

For your suit inflation, rather than keeep all your inflationary eggs in one basket, you could grab a small 1 or 2 litre tank for this purpose. This has become more common down under, following an accident where the need for onboard suit inflation was a contributing factor.

I'm sure this will all be covered in your training / crossover course...

Another option is to just send the whole thing to me and I'll take care of it for you...

Talking Re: Wing/Suit LP ports

Thanks for the info Andy, as regards your kind offer to look after the set for me, unfortunately the postage would be prohibitive so I'll just have to soldier on diving it myself

Re: Wing/Suit LP ports

Andy's offer is very generous, but i know what you mean about postage. Therefore, i gracefully offer to provide the same service, and what's more, i'll come and pick the unit up. No problem at all.

Your manifold does look like it points the hoses up and out... i've attached a picture of mine--the hosese seem to follow the line of the CL case (i.e. down).

Let me know when i should come and pick up the unit...

Anytime at all... just remember to drop off your SK and CK as security

Btw, did you do a course with anyone local, or are you self taught?
Edited to add, just checked your profile and remembered you already told me!! Seems we have a mutual aqcuaintance, I know Max from your club because of the Dolphin and through him helping out Cupar club. Small East of Scotland diving world!! I take it you are on Conger alley/Finstrokes?

Sticking out in the breeze like that creates drag & snag. I used 90s to clean things up a bit. Some will say the 90s create another failure point. I think that having the hoses protected more than offsets that concern. Just make sure to use quality hardware.

Looks much tidier RAL, I've not seen that sort of union before, is it a diving part or from somewhere else?

SCUBA Hoses and Adapters..Variety of Lengths, Colors, Fittings

Common item. Not sure who is in your neck of the woods but others supply them also. Do not get the cheap ones buy from a quality supplier, the cheap ones can fail.

Ah---everyone knows Max!

As for the 90s, i may have a couple of spares kicking about somewhere if you're considering them?

Re: Wing/Suit LP ports

Looks to me that it's backwards. You should be ok if you rotate it 180°.
Best
