| KISS Handsets - Max Depth? I have a CK with about 200Hrs on it and unlike a few here, I have had no serious problems with the second generation handsets since I bought the unit. I know that some have taken their unit deeper than it's max recommended depth, myself included (95M). Has anyone taken their unit much deeper than this, while using the stock second generation handsets? If so, did you experience any water ingress or other problem? I'm just curious and would like to get an idea of the effective and realistic max working depth that these babies can put up it. Andre Fortin Last edited by gathan : 22nd November 2006 at 12:46. |

| Re: KISS Handsets - Max Depth? I dived the CK to 115-120m, the SK to 92m. But neither with the cable gland type connectors. The CK was with the original hollow hose that is at ambient. And the SK was with the same, but having epoxy on both ends of the hoses. Gordon tried the epoxy method for a short while (i.e. few units) before deciding that it was too much work for each display, and went to the current sealed gland.

| Re: KISS Handsets - Max Depth? Knowing Rick, I would make a judicious guess that it was the original hollow tube connection. It works very well since it is all at ambient, except when it is time to change the inner electrical cable or the hollow tube, it is a major PITA to push the tube back onto the brass barb. It is an irrelevant point since only the latest sealed connector is available from Jetsam...

| Re: KISS Handsets - Max Depth? It is an irrelevant point since only the latest sealed connector is available from Jetsam... Kim just posted on the KISS list that Jetsam is looking into offering the Delta-P 3 cell display in the future. This could be as soon as the end of the year...Most likely that it won't affect the current prices of the units.

| Re: KISS Handsets - Max Depth? I just spoke to Kim on the phone about ordering a new Classic for myself and the Delta-P triple display will be at no extra cost. Cheers, Dave Cooper.

| Re: KISS Handsets - Max Depth? Is this similar to the Boris secondary display (i.e. VR-3 housing with 3 x LCD meters inside) ?

| Re: KISS Handsets - Max Depth? Phi, As you said basically the Boris secondary put on the KISS as a primary. Later to follow will be a Breakout Box running a VR3 for Deco and a HUD. Cheers, Dave Cooper.
