| Some Questions about Sport KISS I'm seriously looking at getting a Sport KISS. I have a few questions and perhaps some of you can help me. The unit has a second stage built into the mouthpiece. Does anyone know what the performance limitations of this second stage are? Has anyone been able to get a feel for the effect of temperature and pressure in the loop on the duration of the scrubber? The 2 1/2 hour limit in the description of the unit is not very precise. Thanks for the help, Jerry |

| Classic KISSer Current Rebreather/s: | Dsv Well, guys areound there here parts say they have breathed OK from it at 80m (is John Wayne week or something ?. I know personally it will work at 72m, using off board dil, and resulting decreased gas flow. It would be my first option for sanity breaths, before going to a seperate second stage and doing a complete OC bailout, if necessary. What's imprecise about 2 1/2 hours?

I have used it at 210' and it'll drain a 13 cu in no time at all. Have sufficient bailout. 2.5 is the conservative number at this point. The two variables you mentioned are just that. Advice is directly related to what you want to do with the unit. It is a recreational unit. If you are thinking of more intense uses I would opt for something a tad more specialized - electronic CCR with the bells and whistles. |

| Been in Sharm last 3 weeks to help a CCR trimix course, a few students were trying the OC bail-out red from the DSV at various depths (50-75m), and reported that they found it breaths well. Remember that it is mainly for "sanity breaths" and give the time (~seconds) to deploy your bottom mix 2nd reg from your stage when diving deep as most people do not carry the bail-out bottom mix in large tank mounted to the unit. |

| I just got back from teaching two back to back Sport KISS classes in the St Lawrence both groups were very serious technical and cave divers, everybody found the units extremely intuitive the Paragon reg works well for your "sanity" breaths and and training includes doing just that and going of the loop completely and bailing to a stage. Virtually everybody is heading back and looking to sell their doubles. Cheers, Chris

| techblue, I just spoke with one of your students and he reports as well that the unit is very intuitive. btw he was very happy with the class. cave seeker and andy del; my earlier sentence referred to what is not precise. Namely, the 2 1/2 hours does not specify under what conditions. On the web site it says 2 1/2 hours in cold water. Since the scrubber duration is a function of a number of factors, I was wondering if anyone knew how each impacts on the 2 1/2 hours. I'm not planning on exceeding this recommendation and I will get proper training before getting the Rebreather, but would like to understand when the 2 1/2 hours is too liberal. thanks, Jerry |

| I was at the Jetsam factory a few weeks ago and Gordon showed me the new prototype mouth piece. It has a new diaphram which will make the WOB better, the swtich is mounted on top instead of on the bottom, more importantly, it will allow the mounting of any 2nd stage you want! It will simply replace the old mouth piece by way of the new quick connect. It's very sweet! |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Gordon has been working on the new dsv for a while. WOB will be better due to changes incl. the flapper valves. Testing so far showed improvements. Main reason for the new design was the need to mould the dsv, the current one is the only machined part on the Sport Kiss and slowing production. Once the part is in production, Jetsam can pursue CE testing and certfication.
