| How many? Ok it's a fairly pointless tread. But Im bored (and pissed - in a purely british sense), the wife is out on the town with her girlfriends and Im left at home on my tod - to make matters worse the only thing on box is spider man II. Any way it occurs to me that there are about 1800 threads in the inspiration forum and about 1600 threads in the KISS forum. In other words the KISS generates almost as much interest as the inspiration and yet there are - what maybe - 6000 inspirations verses 200-300 KISS divers? So how many of us KISS divers are there? Ane why so much interest in our unit, or why so little interest in the buddy offering? |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: How many? I asked Gordon at DEMA about the number of units build and he actually told me. Novel idea for a rebreather manufacturer, but then he's always been open to new approaches. Don't remember the exact numbers, but they were in the 170s for the Classic and 120s or 130s for the Sport. Making the latter quite a success, considering that it was on sale less than a year at that time. The Inspiration has been around for quite a while and is a well known entity. The way I remember it the number of threads across boards went up quite a bit when Evo and Vision news started to trickle in. Same with anything Sport Kiss after the DEMA show in Houston last year. The Jetsam units are simple and probably less intimidating than many eCCRs, are considerably more affordable and especially the Sport Kiss is a good unit to enter the rebreather world. Anyway, just my 2¢.

| Re: How many? As I walked around Beneath the Sea (dive show here in NJ for those in the rest of the world) the thought crossed my mind that a hell of a lot of Inspirations appear to be props in manufacturer's displays. Maybe that's the solution. Alot have been bought but they're really just sitting away in storerooms till the next show so that manufacturers can look cutting edge. Note to all the Inspiration Divers: Yeah, yeah I know there are a ton of them in use, I'm just commenting on the fact that every other booth seems to want to look tech friendly and cutting edge. Sticking a big yellow unit in your booth seems to be a popular way to "prove" it. ![]() |

| Re: How many? I was one of those considering the "yellow" rebreather for quite some time but then decided on the Sport Kiss. Personally, I love my Sport Kiss due to its simplicity (duh!). It's a very intuitive unit that is easy to assemble/disassemble and maintain. And I like the fact that I am in charge of not killing myself! I agree that the rapid rise in Sport Kiss owners over the past year speaks volumes about what a great unit it is. Gordon (and Kim) should be applauded for their hard work and excellent product. Looking forward to diving with some of you other Kiss divers! Doug |
