![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | CK VR3 Cable -- how best to do it Hello, I currently have a three display CK. Is it difficult to change out one display and cable for a VR3 connector and keep the old display/cable in the save-a-dive kit? Where would I get the cable with the connector that fits the kidney? -p

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CK VR3 Cable -- how best to do it I sort of did this - keeping the old kidney & displays as spares - when I installed a Subsea display, HUD and cable for a VR3/Shearwater. Now my CK has somemore cables, but it is fully redundant display-wise, and in a matter of minutes I can swap out the Subsea kidney for the spare. I had to do this a few months ago, and of curse the KISS displays had a flood. So now I have a URM as a spare which works adequately. To rewire things keeping the original kidney may be a bit more work, but it is doable. Lazy as I am, I'd just go for a complete new setup... cheers Andy

If it is the old style displays with hoses and single face plate then it is a bit harder. I would imagine you'd need to replace the barb with a gland (probably re-tap the hole as well) and chop down the face plate. I'd be careful doing this as I'm not sure Jetsam still do replacements. They sent me a used one when I needed one. Alternatively, you can fit the cable on to a barb and pot the whole thing, mine came like that from the previous owner and it was a mess. If it's a newer model with cable glands then it is much easier to fit. Dive Life sell the cables as do Tecme. Cheers, Stuart

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CK VR3 Cable -- how best to do it Hello, Thank you everyone. I have a Pursuit as well. The issue in using the Pursuit for all three is not having a backup while diving - if the Pursuit dies I have no readouts. Not certain I want to go to a HUD. I'd love to have the Pursuit monitor all three and have one or two KISS displays as backups. Not certain how to piggyback though. -p You might consider a Shearwater over a VR3, since it reads all three cells.
