![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CK and Sofnolime dust Dunno how well it works but I've taken to 'vacuum cleaning' the scrubber by sticking the hose of the vacuum cleaner over the central scrubber tube and use it to draw air through the scrubber bed for maybe 20-30 seconds. using the vacum that way i doubt you are removing any dust that ends up in the head. as you would have to pull it all hte way through the stack. you would be better off making a plate, or bag, that covers the scrubber with a hole in it so you suck form the top of the scrubber. thus removing dust that end.Not sure how much dust it actually removes but it makes me feel more comfortable about the amount of dust in the scrubber bed. And I have a pair of inspo scrims too top and bottom of the scrubber stack. again i would hav said the scrim on the bottom is a waste (unless your mesh is damaged) as the flow through the stack is bottom to top, so what is the bottom one filtering? the gas entering the stack by which time its already been through your lungs, and has the whole stack to prevent it taking as second trip round. |

![]() ![]() | Re: CK and Sofnolime dust I've been double pouring mine from the keg into a plastic cereal container then into scrubber canister about 8"-12" inches up in front of a fan set on low speed in my garage. Seems to do the job. Never noticed any dust in the head.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CK and Sofnolime dust Hey, I had the inspo scrims in there for a while (top & bottom) but found it slightly did increase my WOB...or at least that's the impression I had (I know others think differently). Anyway, I'm also double pouring sorb now which does the trick very well... Cheers, Marc

I also put a thin layer of sterile gauze that you can get from any drug store under the top mesh. I have not seen any dust in my head or loop hoses using this method.

I don't use scrims and haven't had any head dust. I've also played with the vacuum method and it pulls out alot of dust from somewhere (I have a Dyson and you can see what you sucked up inside the vacuum) but don't like putting my dirty vacuum near my clean('ish) rebreather ![]()
