| CK#69 Current Rebreather/s: | Re: HUDs I ordered my CK with the C2R Triple PO2 setup, which includes the HUD - C2R PO2 Doc. Any chance you could show me this with a pic? I've got the same setup (CK + URM), and generally I do like it. The only downside for me is I'd rather it used both LEDs for PO2, rather than the deco LED. But overall, it's a good combo to dive Another aspect that I've just dealt with is mounting the intermediate box. I did this down inside the exhaust counter lung side... Worked out great. b. ![]() David |

Here is the outside of the case - On the left side, you notice a tie-wrap running vertically - The box is on the other side, inside the counter lung case: On the inside, I oriented the box so that the wrap would pass directly between the plugs on the top and bottom. This way, the unit couldn't get free: When I drilled the holes, I carefully smoothed them over so as not to have a rough edge for the tie-wrap to ride against. Also, what may not be obvious: I mounted the unit low enough so that I could unplug the pendant easily. I don't like slinging the unit around with the pendant and vr3 connected - I keep them in a dry box when not in use. The trick I found about doing this is to loop the pendant wire and tie wrap the excess. I pass the plug through the first stage area (NOT from underneath). The reason for this is that the edge of the case will tend to sit on the wires - Probably not good for them long-term ![]() Last edited by brockbr : 11th February 2008 at 12:48. Actually, there is NO WAY I can get the lungs on while the head is bolted to the counter lung case. I don't know how some people do it, but my averaged size fingers aren't small enough to tighten the counter lung attachment ring.Best Philippe I've resigned myself to always breaking the unit down (ie. remove head) to get the lungs in or out. ...unless someone can shed some light on how to do it with average sized male hands... |

I think you might have too much run through your counter lung case to be able to do it. When I originaly set up my unit, I ran all my hoses through the case. I removed the screws that hold the manifold block in place and have it held with a bungi. Although it was tight, I was able to get the lungs on and off with the unit configured this way. I however don't have the additional URM block and wiring in the case. After reading about some others having problems breathing their units that sounded eerily similar to issues I have had being possibly attributed to restriction of the counter lungs, I removed the hoses I had on the inboard (closest to scrubber/head) side of the case. I am not sure that was the cause of my problems, but I haven't had a reoccurrence. Anyway, back to the subject, this has made getting the lungs in and out a bit easier, but it is still a pain in the ass. |

I can get my arm in there ok, it's just tightening the ring around the counter lung itself that I can't do. Besides, breaking it down only take an extra minute anyway. After reading about some others having problems breathing their units that sounded eerily similar to issues I have had being possibly attributed to restriction of the counter lungs, I removed the hoses I had on the inboard (closest to scrubber/head) side of the case. Roll the lung up across it's length so you can shove it down the case, line up the aperture with the connection on the head and push it on evenly enough to "catch" it with the screw-on ring, tighten up a bit then push the lung on a bit further, pushing down all around to slide it on evenly, tighten a bit more and repeat until on fully. Do it with the cylinder off to give better access to the connection.
