Hello from Denmark...!

Hello to all..!

I'm quite new in this world, so please understand that I may have a lot questions that may be obvious to you
I am considering to take a course on Inspiration Vision or Evolution. But actually I don't know the difference except from the size...?

I'm looking forward to get to know more about this new (to me) diving world!

Welcome!

With the new Vision electronics, and the new inspiration box there is not much difference apart from size of the box, the tanks (2 vs 3 liter) and scrubber (2 vs 3 h) duration.

Re: Hello from Denmark...!

Hi Christina

The Inspiration Vision and Evolution share the same electronics. The add-on's such as temp stick and deco capability can be ordred for both. The scrubber is a little shorter on the Evo and it only holds 2 kg. The Inspiration have a 3 kg scrubber.
They both have plenty of capability, you won't really find any limitations from a practical diving standpoint there.
The duration on the Inspo scrubber is 1/3 longer due to higher amount of sorb.
Official time limits for Evo is 2 hrs, Inspo would be 3 hrs.
However most people, when they gained experience with the unit, tend to go longer than the official limits. The current trend in DK seems to be going twice the official timelimits.

Both can be set up to trim beautifully underwater, it's just a matter of taking your time in figuring it out.
I have heard one complaint that the shorter Evo case can cause a little backpain, compared to the longer case on the Inspiration. But I would be really surprised if that issue can't be fixed by a little creative placement of weights.

The lighter weight on the Evolution is a treat when hauling the gear.
One downside to the Evo though. 2L tanks need higher fill pressures compared to the 3L tanks on the Inspo. Acces to a O2 booster would be a good idea.

Venlig hilsen
Johnny

Re: Hello from Denmark...!

Welcome to Rebreather World. Plenty of good info for you here.

I've had a Vision for 18 months and it's worked perfectly.

I have tempstick (Inspiration only unit with one), ADV with flowstop, Nitrox and Trimix software.

If you want to travel a lot then the smaller Evolution might suit better? Are you diving locally or abroad or both?

You will need to add more weight to an Evolution for diving compared to Inspiraton Vision so you will have the sme amount of weight on your back when you jump in the water.

I have 2 x O2 cylinders and 2 x diluent and this really helps with cutting down on the number of visits to my local dive centre for filling especially as I always use trimix.

It also means I'm not under pressure with always having to make sure I have my cylinders full before a trip.

I can go on a 3 day dive trip with one days diving left in my 1st set of cylinders with the other two days taken care of by my two spare cylinders.

The joy of not having to drag a twinset and two side cylinders off a divebaot each day is wonderful! I might stroll off carrying a "very heavy" 3L cylinder.Enjoy winding up your OC dive friends by pretending your cylinder is really heavy.

With only 2L cylinders with the Evolution, good to have a separate drysuit inflation cylinder say ali 1.5L then you have the wing off your diluent.

I am assuming drysuit diving in Europe?
