Greetings from Vancouver Island

First post on rebreatherworld. Greetings to all.

How many Rebreather divers live on Vancouver Island? I'm up just north of Ladysmith. Not an RB diver yet, but soon.

Cheers,

Welcome to the board. If you head into The Dive Outfitters on Northfield Road in Nanaimo I usually have my megalodon in the shop. Have you decided on a particular unit yet?

We are very active in the Victoria area and often make our way up Island for weekend trips. Welcome!

I've been to your shop before, but I don't know if you were there at the time (last summer). I'll come by and have a look.

Victoria is not far. I haven't dived Victoria yet, but I hear Ogden point is quite a nice dive. My diving on the coast started with Porpoise Bay, then switched to Quadra and Nanaimo. I'd like to do more shore dives around here, but twins was never the fun thing for that, especially if the walk involved steep or muddy paths!

Moving to an Rebreather is the plan for this year - better gas management (on land as well as water) plus only one rig to dive (no swapping twins for singles rig) plus less overall weight than twins.

Cheers,

-S

Re: Greetings from Vancouver Island

Check out Diver's Choice for diving in Nanaimo. They have a compresson on board, oxygen is included for CCR divers, and you put on your gear indoors.

They're nice people too.

Don't know them. Who runs the operation, if I may ask?
