Hello

Hi

befor starting I´d like to give You some Infos about the guy asking.
I´m 42, diving since 1987. I live in South Germany and this is, where I do lot of my dives. Other favourit is the red Sea. My biggest interest are wrecks.
Mostly WWI and II, south of England, Florida, Red Sea, Sudan, Est Sea, Mediteranian Sea Croatia/ Italy.

I´m a retired PADI Instructor (MSDT), OC trimix certified and now have logged over 850 dives. One of the most challenging was diving the ferry Estonia in 2000 / Est Sea and taking some videos, still OC.
After a period of refreshing my house and looking for new adventures I thougt it might be time to try some rebreather. So I had a course on the Bi in Safaga/Red Sea in early 2005 and and all the Trimix courses in 2006. I love it diving the Panorama Reef (warm water, see I´m getting old).

Last wreck I dove was the Salpe, a freighter lying on 65m (sea bed) of the eastern Coast of Sardinia/ Italy on Trimix with the Bi. Was home of a huge grouper.

Still I´m surprised how much Information one can find on the Internet, hope to get some more for the Mods I like to do.

May be someone can give me the right phrase to put into the search button for I like to fix a backplate instead of the original soft pack, but need some clips to fix the counterlungs down to the belly belt.

And I´hope no one searchs for all the mistakes I make talking english or typing.

C U in the water.

Götz

Re: Hello

Herzlich Willkommen bei Rebreather World! A warm welcome to RBW.

You have come to the right place - there is a wealth of information on this side and people are friendly and helpful. Head over to the Kiss forums and start reading through the threads. I am sure you will find the answer to your backplate question there. Also: Try "kiss backplate" in the Search.

And don't worry about your english. You did a good job in your first post! Many Rebreather World users come from a non english speaking background.

Greetings from sunny(?) Sydney!

Hi and welcome

For backplates on Inspirations look in the library under Inspiration, there's at least two in there and more besides.

Re: Hello

Try Golem Gear (Rebreather World Supporter - logo at the top of many pages.) Jakub has a set of small SS clips that thread on the bellybelt with a top slot for CL hold down straps, which, if I read your post correctly, is the issue you want to resolve to switch to a BP.

Re: Hello

Hi and welcome,

I bought two counterlung attachments from divingniknaks - they fit on the harness like weightstops, but have a slot at the top to take narrow webbing. I then added APD crotch straps, as they have the correct fastex buckle and even a pull tag like the original on the APD harness.

Haven't tried it out yet - that will happen on Sunday, but it's a well-trodden path, so should be fine.

Viel Spass und Glueck,

Those are the ones that I used. They also do a very neat under-counterlung D-ring that apparently makes hooking on your bail-out easier. I'm looking forward to trying that.

Cheers,

Re: Hello

Hi guys,

sorry for responding late, office keeps me little bit too busy.

Thx for the links.

@Ina:
I remember.
Estonia is a never ending story, could write books about it.
But no proofs for the bomb theory at all.

What I keep in mind is a great adventure for me and met a great Person, named Gregg Bemis.
