![]() | Hello from California Hi, I have been thinking about CCRs for the last year and reading/learning from this forum. Looking at transitioning mid 2007. Looking at the Meg, KC or Evo. None of my current dive partners want to go for it, so Im also looking for a CCR partner - any thoughts? As far as learning, I have a few options locally but I have been thinking of going to Washington for the ISC course. Comments and recomondation are welcome. Thanks, Phil |

Check out the member list here on Rebreather World, I am sure there are a bunch of Rebreather divers in the area that you can hook up with, so you won't be stuck with a bunch of "bubble blowers" on your quiet RB dives Again, welcome on board. best, RBN

Missed you by a few months, just moved away from SoCal. There are only two shops specializing in Rebreather, Scuba Schools of America in Montclair (AP, Jetsam, Dräger) and one in Ventura (Optima, maybe something else). Peter den Haan does some teaching out of Hollywood Divers, the guys there dive a Sport Kiss and an Evo. He also dives and teaches on the Meg. As far as which one will work for you probably best look at them and if possible try them. They're quite different units.

![]() ![]() | Re: Hello from California Hi Phil, Peter Den Haan teaches on the Inspo, Evo, Meg, Classic Kiss and Sport Kiss and he does this as an independent instructor. He is an instructor trainer on most of these units. Jeff Bozanic is an excellent instructor and wrote the book (he actually did) on rebreathers. Both would be happy to talk to you and help you in your choice. I chose the Sport Kiss and I'm really happy with my decision. My club, California Wreck Divers, has six rebreather divers -- maybe seven soon. You are welcome to come on our dives and/or to the club meetings to get first hand opinions on the different units, and you can find rebreather divers to dive with. Jerry |
