I have enjoyed this board for a while, so I figured I would stop lurking and try to contribute.
I am a relatively new oc diver, but quite handy--I have a lathe, and made a cannister light and some other stuff. Anyway I'd like to get into a rebreather, probably a diy at this point.

You want to look out for Skipbreather. Ken's a great guy, dives a FireMegstinguisher(link).
Builds a lot of his stuff. Converted a fire truck into a rolling dive bag if memory serves me right.

You are not alone in Chicago. Always interested in diving and DIY. I just don't have the room for the workshop.

If you have any interest in working on an ROV, let me know...
