Introduction

Ron Mijcan suggested that I get involved in this group. My name is Dale Bletso and I have been active in the past on both the Dolphin smartgroups forum and the nwdesigns group, both of which have been real quiet for some time now.

I was one of the early coverters of a dolphin to an MCCR unit, (see www.airheadsscuba.com/bletsop.html and www.airheadsscuba.com/rbrsprt.html )

I have over 200 hours on the the unit CCR which I call a DOCCR or dual orifice closed circuit rebreather) I elected to use a high IP for greater depth capability and have had the unit to 67MSW and back 1200 m into a cave.

I absoluetly detest diving OC.

I am also currently working on my own design MCCR unit which would offer a better profile (more like a set of doubles) to allow me to get back into some of the caves I like to dive.

Unfortunately, I live in Kentucky, USA and most of what I see is cold, limited visibilty diving. (yes, even under the ice.)

I am a TDI IT and my bigest bitch is I can't use my "unsanctioned" unit to teach any courses. The upest is that I therefor teach less. You can see where my priorities lie.

Hi Dale-

Welcome aboard- good too see yet another familiar name from the Rebreather List show up here. It HAS been pretty much silent for a while now, hasn't it.

You'll find just as wide a cross secion of both hardware and skill levels here as on the list, but I'd bet the numbers- especially including lurkers- are at least an order of magnitude higher. Fortunately the same level of adult conversation is for the most part maintined as well.

Increased bandwidth has led to many more pictures, which in turn fosters a much clearer understanding of what folks are building/ rigging. I have no doubt you'll be sharing your extensive hard won experience w/ Dolphin newbs in no time.

Very best,
Ken S.

Re: Introduction

Hello , Dale long time no sea...

Glad to see you onboard, I see so many of the "old" guys who started tinkering with the dolphins and stepping out in front of the crowd, from back when a dolphin was cool finding the Rebreather World.
